The infamous “dialing for answers” round returns, where cell phones are allowed, as does the free-throw contest to break ties. Hosts this year are Byron Kerman, the bon vivant who writes the “to do” section of Sauce Magazine and is a frequent contributor to St. Louis Magazine, and Thomas Crone, longtime St. Louis journalist and musical maestro of the Silver Tray radio show on Friday afternoons on KDHX. Returning for yet another year of verbal abuse and invective is D.J. Wilson, host of KDHX’s Collateral Damage political chat show on Monday nights. Other crypto-celebrity readers may surface. The night is the main fundraiser for Cabrini’s sports teams, which provide an opportunity for Cabrini students and other kids from this central city neighborhood to participate in all CYC sports. Cabrini’s student body is a polyglot mix of African-American, Hispanic, Asian, and Caucasian kids, including a significant mix of immigrant children.
